🔥 The Everything Report Week 8

Ryan Heath and Graham Barfield review all the fantasy football usage from Week 7 with everything you need to know before Week 8.

🚀 Caleb Williams Has Arrived

Caleb Williams is starting to look like the quarterback Chicago envisioned. He's averaging 21.2 FPG (QB6) across his four full games, but his improved accuracy is even more impressive. Williams leads all quarterbacks with an 89.9% catchable throw rate, while only Drake Maye and Lamar Jackson have a higher completion rate over expectation. He's still hunting big plays, but he's also taking easier completions to keep drives alive. The results speak for themselves: Chicago ranks fourth in EPA per dropback and seventh in points scored per drive in his four full starts.

Ben Johnson is also showing more trust in Williams, with the Bears posting a pass rate over expectation of at least +4.4% in three of those four games, something they managed just three times all of last season. The schedule only adds to his upside, as Chicago faces three bottom-12 pass defenses from Weeks 14-17, plus a potential shootout with Green Bay. Barfield views Williams as a top-5 fantasy QB rest of season, with top-3 upside if the Bears continue leaning into the passing game. He's a trade target worth checking on before the fantasy playoffs.

🏈 Has Malik Willis Become a Fantasy QB1?

Malik Willis has completely flipped his fantasy outlook over the past two games. After averaging just 11.4 FPG (QB32) through his first four starts, he's erupted for 24.0 FPG (QB2) over his last two. The big question is whether this is a legitimate breakout or just a hot streak.

The most encouraging change is Miami's offensive volume. After averaging a league-low 52.3 plays per game through Week 4, the Dolphins have run 64 plays in each of their last two games, a 22% increase. Willis' scramble rate has also climbed from 10.2% to 14.5%, giving him more opportunities to produce fantasy points.

Some regression is inevitable. Willis' 12.2 yards per scramble and 6.3% passing TD rate are unlikely to hold, but the increased volume and rushing upside give him a path to low-end QB1 production. If he’s available and you need options at QB, Heath believes he’s worth adding. He's more of a QB2 against New England this week, but his upcoming schedule looks promising.

📈 Jameson Williams Finally Gets His Positive Regression

Jameson Williams entered Week 7 as one of the NFL's biggest positive regression candidates, and his breakout arrived in a big way. He caught 5 passes for 91 yards and 2 TDs, scoring 26.1 fantasy points while earning a season-high 28.1% target share. He's now scored at least 16 fantasy points in three straight games, showing that his recent surge isn't just a one-week fluke.

The underlying numbers have been pointing toward this breakout. Williams ranks ninth among WRs in expected fantasy points per game (17.0 XFP/G), but his production had been lagging behind his opportunities. Entering Week 7, he was averaging 5.0 fewer fantasy points per game than expected based on his usage. After Sunday's two-TD performance, that gap has narrowed to 3.0 points.

Williams' recent production is finally catching up with the valuable opportunities he's been earning. While his touchdown pace won't necessarily continue, his usage gives him a legitimate path to sustained fantasy success. It's another reminder of why XFP matters: volume can reveal upside before the fantasy points arrive.

🏆 The League Winners

The draft picks paying off the most in 2026 - and what makes them so valuable.

👑 The Fantasy MVP: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Round 1). JSN has been the most valuable player in fantasy through seven weeks, narrowly edging out Jahmyr Gibbs in wins above replacement (WAR). He's averaging an absurd 28 FPG, 5.3 more than the next closest WR, and has accounted for over half of Seattle's receiving yards. Even at a first-round price, JSN has been a championship-changing pick.

💰 The Second-Round Steal: Kenneth Walker (Round 2). Walker has delivered roughly 2.5 wins above replacement after being drafted around pick 25. Kansas City has given him an 83% share of backfield expected fantasy points, and he's averaging 5.8 yards per carry. The talent was always there, but the bell-cow workload has turned him into one of fantasy's biggest difference-makers.

📈 The Mid-Round Hit: Chuba Hubbard (Round 8). Hubbard has finished as an RB1 in all but one game this season, making him the most valuable eighth-round pick on the board. He's gone from a mid-round selection to a weekly lineup advantage, showing just how much a reliable workload can matter at RB.

🚀 The Late-Round Jackpot: Matthew Golden (Round 11). Golden was available in the 11th round and is already the WR14 in FPG, ranking fifth among WRs in targets and first in air yards. Even better, he's left plenty of production on the field through drops and missed opportunities. Scott Barrett believes Golden could be due for positive regression, giving this draft steal even more upside.

🔥 Week 8 Starts & Sits

Joe Dolan shares the info & stats you need to make your toughest Week 8 lineup decisions.

🟢 Start Parker Washington. Washington scored just 10.4 fantasy points on 21.7 expected points before Jacksonville's bye, leaving plenty of production on the field. Now he faces a Colts defense allowing the fifth-most FPG to slot receivers, where Washington runs about half his routes. He should also avoid Sauce Gardner on those snaps, making this a great bounce-back spot.

🟢 Start Rhamondre Stevenson. Stevenson has quietly averaged 14.5 FPG over his last three games, with his snap share climbing to 65%. His usage has improved while TreVeyon Henderson's role has shrunk, and now he gets a Miami defense allowing the fourth-most FPG to opposing RBs. Stevenson looks like a solid RB2 this week.

🟢 Start Omar Cooper. Cooper has averaged 22.4 FPG in his two full games, and his 5.70 yards per route run from the slot leads all receivers. The Raiders rank last against short passes, setting up another favorable matchup for the rookie. His production might cool off eventually, but Dolan views him as a low-end WR2 this week.

🔴 Sit Emanuel Wilson. Wilson is coming off 100 rushing yards and a TD on 24 carries, but his workload could take a hit if Zach Charbonnet or Jadarian Price returns. Chicago also allows the sixth-fewest FPG to RBs (18.7). Despite last week's big performance, Dolan views Wilson as an RB3 this week.

🔴 Sit Ladd McConkey. McConkey is expected back from a concussion, but he's completed just one full game this season, catching 5 passes for 66 yards in that outing. The Chargers are underdogs against the Rams, and there's a chance Trent McDuffie follows him in coverage. Dolan views McConkey as more of a WR3 until he proves he can stay healthy and produce consistently.

🔴 Sit Kyle Pitts. Pitts has scored a TD in three straight games, but his production is masking some concerning usage. He's running a route on just 61% of pass plays in Michael Penix's starts, with a 15.6% target share, and he's topped 50 receiving yards only once all season. Tampa Bay is a favorable matchup for TEs, but Dolan warns that Pitts' role remains shaky. He's a touchdown-dependent option worth benching if you have a more reliable TE.

🛡️ Jacksonville Jaguars (42%) vs. IND. The Colts' offense has been a mess lately, allowing 10 sacks and committing four turnovers over the last two weeks. Daniel Jones has struggled, and Jacksonville's run defense could force him to throw more than he'd like, which is a great setup for sacks and turnovers. The Jaguars also have some appealing matchups coming up against Baltimore, Tennessee twice, and the Giants, making them a solid streaming option with longer-term upside, per Drake’s Week 8 Streaming D/STs.

⚡ I Am Inevitable. Jaxon Smith-Njigba vs. Bears CBs. JSN has been nearly impossible to cover, averaging over 2.50 yards per route run in every game, including three above 4.50. Chicago's secondary has struggled all season, allowing huge games to Christian Watson (143 yards), Jalen Coker (138), and Matthew Golden (123). Not a single Bears CB is allowing fewer than 0.25 fantasy points per route run, making this another great spot for JSN. The biggest concern might be Sam Darnold's play, per Vanek’s Week 8 WR/CB Fantasy Matchups.

Players to buy and sell, risers, fallers & more.

Rashee Rice // Denny Medley, Imagn Images

Buy Rashee Rice. Rice looks like one of the best buy-low WR targets right now. Kansas City could bring in receiving help, but it's unlikely to take a major role away from Rice. He should remain a key part of the Chiefs' passing game, and his upcoming schedule is especially favorable for slot receivers, with matchups against Denver, the Jets, Atlanta, Arizona, and Buffalo. This could be a good time to buy before his production picks up, per Hansen’s Week 8 Player Trade Recommendations.

Sell Tony Pollard. Pollard went off in Week 7, making this a great time to see what he could fetch in a trade. There's a chance Tennessee moves him before the deadline, potentially to Minnesota, which could actually hurt his fantasy value. Even if he stays with the Titans, Pollard has relied on favorable matchups to put up big numbers, and the schedule gets much tougher over the next five weeks. Coming off a huge game, this might be the best chance to sell high, per Hansen’s Week 8 Player Trade Recommendations.

Buy Luther Burden before his second-half breakout. Burden is starting to look like a potential league winner, averaging 16.3 fantasy points and 79.2 receiving yards per game over his last five contests. He ranks fifth among WRs in yards per route run (3.07) despite running routes on just 65.2% of Chicago's dropbacks. Menton believes Burden has earned a bigger role, and with the Bears facing the ninth-easiest remaining schedule, there's plenty of room for his production to grow, per Menton’s Trading Guide: Week 8.

  • Trade Outlook: Burden’s ascension, likely increased usage going forward, and the Bears' remaining strength of schedule is the perfect storm. (Example: Quinshon Judkins + DK Metcalf)

Sell Javonte Williams after his big Week 7 performance. Williams rushed for 155 yards on 25 carries, giving fantasy managers a great opportunity to cash in. His workload remains strong, but five of his nine touchdowns have come from two yards out or closer, raising questions about how sustainable that scoring is. Menton still views Williams as a solid hold, but he'd rather use his current trade value to upgrade at RB, per Menton’s Trading Guide: Week 8.

  • Trade Outlook: Menton has no issue with holding Williams but wants to take advantage of any sell-high opportunities. (Example: Javonte Williams + DeVonta Smith for Bijan Robinson)

💸 Best Bets

  • Zay Flowers over 76.5 receiving yards (-114, DraftKings). Fantasy Points projects Flowers for 98.2 yards, and he's cleared 84 yards in three games with Lamar Jackson. He ranks second among WRs in YPRR (3.82) and averages 4.53 YPRR against Cover 3 and Cover 4, which Buffalo runs on 60.4% of snaps. The Bills also allow the seventh-most receiving yards to WRs (173.8 per game), per Brolley’s Best Bets Week 8.

  • Kenneth Walker over 82.5 rushing yards (-112, DraftKings). Fantasy Points projects Walker for 104.1 yards, and he's topped 128 yards in four of six games, including 173 yards and a TD against Denver in Week 1. He leads RBs in YPC (5.84) and ranks second in explosive run rate (18.4%). Denver allows 102 rushing yards per game, and Zach Allen could be limited by a hamstring injury, per Brolley’s Best Bets Week 8.

  • Jeremy McNichols over 22.5 rushing yards (-114, FanDuel). Fantasy Points projects McNichols for 34.8 yards and a 38% backfield carry share. He looked like Washington's most explosive back before the bye, averaging 4.8 YPC on 104 carries over three seasons with the team. Philadelphia allows the fourth-most rushing yards to RBs (116.3 per game), and Washington enters as a six-point home favorite, per Brolley’s Best Bets Week 8.
